On this project we were to make a new look to the African International Film Festival. The theme for this years festival were "Hope". After a lot of research I found a lot of African film festivals, but I wanted to do something that wasn't done before. So I picked out some elements that reminded me of both Africa, hope and film. Then I put them all together in a big illustration made up by an african woman, an african tree, a camera and some flying birds. I also chose to use some earthly texture and handwritten typogrophy to bring out the feeling even more. The colors are chosen from the main colors of Africa.
Here we were to design four packages for the organic tea "Organic Revival". Because this was an organic tea, I wanted to use some special elements to bring out the feeling of organic, and at the same time give the feeling of quality. I chose to use strong, bright colors to really make them pop out in the store. Along with handwritten typogrophy and texture in the background it really gave the organic handmade feeling. I also added some leaves as elements on the front, and an illustration of the plant of which this type of tea are made of on the back.
On this project we were to design beer labels for Mornington Peninsula. Four different types of beer. I chose to aim at young adults, and made the design thereafter. I started off by choosing four colors for the labels, and added numbers in the background as well, to show the difference between them, and at the same time show that they are from the same brewery. I made it clean, minimalistic and simple to hit the target of young adults.
We were to redesign an existing package of choice. I picked out a package of biscuits I didn't find very interesting. The look of it gave me a feeling of cheap and low quality, so I decided to give it a facelift. I wanted to make it look more exclusive and expensive. So I chose to use black as a main color, and red as a secondary color. By doing this it looks clean, and minimalistic. The typogrophy is clean, and makes it look more expensive. Along with a picture of the biscuits on a white plate I think that this package easily could replace the excisting package.
We were to make a series of three postcards about Australia, for australians. The thing was not to be to stereotypicle, but at the same time you needed to see that it was about Australia. I chose to use three australian animals that australians look at as pests. Kangaroo, crocodile and emu. I placed them in a roadsign and put a bullethole throug their heads. I also used some earthly texture in the background to get the feeling of the dry climate you can find in Australia. I've focused on using humour of which only australians think are funny.
Me and my classmate Jan Thorbjørnsen made a series of three posters as a clothing commercial for Nike. We got to borrow clothes and shoes from Sportsgalleriet to take the pictures. As I said, we took three pictures, and the theme was "You don't have to be sporty to wear Nike". We tried to show this by using pictures of a person lying on the couch wearing these clothes. We used excighting angles and strong colors to help bring out the message.
